For thirty years, Kinnevikens Segelmakeri has been sewing high-quality sails for most types of boats. Since 2006, they have also been manufacturing and installing sail roofs and sun sails for outdoor areas in all kinds of locations. Haga Ekonomi has been their accounting firm since the beginning, and for Niklas Hägnander and Anneli Wångdahl, who run the company, proximity and personal service are decisive advantages.

It was Niklas who started Kinnevikens Segelmakeri in 1994, and from the beginning he focused entirely on boat sails. Anneli joined the company in 2002, and they have been working together ever since.

In connection with a downturn in the boat market, the business was expanded to include all types of sun roofs and sun sails for both private and public environments. Many products are available from stock, but they also manufacture more spectacular custom-made solutions. The sailmaker has no employees; Niklas and Anneli do all the work themselves. However, they let the LR agency Haga Ekonomi take care of the financial services.

  • From the very beginning, my wife took care of the bookkeeping, but we soon realized that it would be better to get professional help. Today, Haga Ekonomi helps us with ongoing bookkeeping and accounting, as well as financial statements, says Niklas.

Kinnevikens Segelmakeri has high demand for its products and generates approximately SEK 4 million in revenue. The business is located in Lidköping, just like Haga Ekonomi. Both Niklas and Anneli appreciate the local proximity.

  • Local ties are extremely important, says Anneli. We know the people who work at the office, and if there's anything I don't understand, I can just pop in and talk to our contact person or someone else there who can help us.

Niklas agrees and adds that the personal approach is another advantage.

  • We receive calls from agencies in Stockholm who want us to switch to them, but the personal connection feels crucial to us.

Some things have changed during the thirty years of collaboration with Haga Ekonomi, particularly in terms of digitalization. However, certain aspects remain unchanged.

  • We are not fully digitized in terms of finance, even though our contacts at Haga Ekonomi are working towards this. For example, we purchase all our materials from Germany, where they do not use digital invoices; instead, they are sent by physical mail, says Anneli.
  • But everything is much smoother now. Five years ago, the accounting firm came here once a month and sat with our binders. We don't have to do that anymore, which means we have time to do other, perhaps more enjoyable, things at work.
